What is an apprenticeship?

  • You’ll have a full time job for a minimum of 12 months (dependent on qualification)
  • You’ll earn a competitive salary, along with receiving full support from your manager, therefore gaining new knowledge, skills and behaviours as well as receiving an accredited qualification
  • You’ll have the same benefits as all council staff
  • You’ll work towards a qualification which you’ll gain at the end
  • On most apprenticeships you’ll work 5 days a week, and some include weekend work
  • You'll spend at least 6 hours of your time in learning and attending training
