An opportunity has arisen for an Employment Support Worker within the Worklink Team.
Worklink are a team within the Directorate of Adults Health and Customer Services, supporting Adults who have a Learning Disability to obtain paid employment. Based at Worklink, Sewerby, Bridlington.
The Employment Support Worker will work as part of an enthusiastic team of staff. The post holder will be responsible for work based training to people with a learning disability, enabling adults to learn practical, social and independence skills. Working at Sewerby base teaching Horticultural skills which enable progression towards and into employment. We are looking for an enthusiastic and focused individual who has drive and energy. You must be able to work collaboratively and have excellent communication skills. This role can be physically demanding, working three hours daily, Monday-Friday, 11am- 2pm.
You will ensure that on a day to day basis the service is operated in a safe and effective manner and implement and adhere to all service procedures, including Health and Safety procedures. All other relevant training will be provided. The successful candidate will need to complete The Care Certificate on commencement of the post. This will be provided by ERYC and will take approximately 12 weeks.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working with adults with a learning disability.
Candidates should have the necessary written and verbal communication skills to ensure that we are working to a high standard.
