The post of Support Worker has become available to support vulnerable adults within a busy day service team. The service runs Monday to Friday between the hours of 9.00- 4.00pm.

Experience within a care environment, including previous experience of working with adults with a learning disability and/or older people is desirable, but we also welcome applications from people who do not have experience but feel that they have the right personality and values for the position.

The role will include supporting people with personal care needs, administering medication safely and providing a keyworker role to a specific group of people. The successful candidate will be expected to use a computer sometimes for group preparation, reports, and training etc.

The successful candidate will need to complete The Care Certificate on commencement of the post unless already completed. This will be provided by the ERYC and will take approximately 12 weeks. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in care would be desirable. All other relevant training will be provided.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person, with the ability to plan and lead group activities. This would be in a variety of areas such as leisure, sport, health and wellbeing, life skills and community activities etc.

The successful person will be passionate about providing the best service possible. They will be proactive in helping people to maintain their independence and be able to respond positively to the changing needs of the people who use our service.

Candidates should have the necessary written and verbal communication skills to ensure that we are working to a high standard. Record keeping and report writing – both electronic and handwritten are an important part of the role. Training will be provided for this.

Staff will be required to wear PPE as identified by our risk assessments and ERYC guidelines when working in the day service or the community.

The provision of the service is constantly changing to stay in line with Government guidelines and the successful candidate will be enthusiastic, able to show imagination and initiative and work in a flexible manner as we aim to provide the best service possible.
