Town view is a Short Breaks service in Beverley, providing support for up to 14 adults who have a learning disability and other associated physical health needs. We are proud to hold an overall CQC rating of good.
Due to the current post holder retiring at the end of the year we now have a rare opportunity to be able to advertise for a Senior Care Office position. The post is 32 hours a week and there will be an expectation to work evenings and alternative weekends. Hours of work could vary between 7am and 11pm.
Town View prides itself in offering care and support that puts the service user at the very centre in terms of decision making regarding their individual lives, hopes and aspirations. It is therefore crucial that the post holder has a sound value base that respects people’s individuality and diversity in order to ensure that good quality person centred care is provided to all service users who access Town View.
As a Senior Care Officer, you will be required to support the Registered Manager with the day to day operational management and leadership of the service. Duties will include recruiting supervising and managing staff, liaising with families and other professionals to ensure that good outcomes for our service users can be achieved, medication management, reviewing and updating individual care plans/risk plans and the use of electronic systems for retrieving and storing information.
You will also be required to attend service user review meetings and contributing to strengths based assessments.
You will have experience of working in a care setting and must have a good working knowledge of the fundamental care standards, how these are regulated by the Care Quality Commission and the responsibilities of a registered service in relation to upholding these. You will also have a good working knowledge of legislation such as Mental Capacity Act 2005, The Care Act 2014, Data Protection Act, Health and Safety at Work Act and sound knowledge around safeguarding of vulnerable adults. In addition to this, a good understanding of Covid-19 related residential home guidance will also be an advantage.
The role is challenging but extremely rewarding. If you think that you have the right values and the aptitude to support the service users at Town View to live a good quality and fulfilling life then we would welcome your application.
