The job itself

The Council is looking for two experienced and enthusiastic professionals to join the Strategic Transport Team.

The 2 x Senior Transport Policy Officer roles will help the team provide strategic and technical support to the Council's Asset Strategy service, develop the active travel and sustainable transport network, prepare and monitor the Local Transport Plan’s schemes and strategies, and improve the East Riding's highway and transport infrastructure to help ensure the Council’s statutory roles are met.

The workload is varied and dynamic and the successful candidates will play a key role in:

  • liaising closely with key stakeholders and user groups,
  • feasibility, scheme development and planning future work programmes for cycling and walking and/or other sustainable transport infrastructure,
  • identifying funding opportunities and helping with bids to secure funding for new highway and transport schemes,
  • helping to oversee the delivery of the Council's Local Transport Plan’s programme and related schemes.
