The Old School House provides residential care to older people with Dementia. We seek committed, self-motivated and reliable individuals to deliver high quality care and support to our residents through the night.
We currently have vacancies for casual night care assistant to enhance and work alongside our permanent staff team. Hours will be offered on a needs basis to maintain a safe environment for both residents and staff.
Duties include ensuring the personal and physical care needs of the residents are met. You will also work with individuals to ensure the highest standard of dignity and independence are achieved. The work will involve working in some difficult and complex situations, as presentations in dementia vary significantly. Behaviour management awareness as well as caring and empathetic approaches are essential in meeting individual needs.
The role is challenging, but extremely rewarding. If you enjoy working with people and have a desire to improve the quality of life for older people with dementia in residential care then we would welcome your application.
You should be able to work as part of a team, offering consistent approaches to care and managing behaviours that challenge. A good value base and an awareness of the needs of people with Dementia is essential.
NVQ / QCF qualifications would be advantageous as well as a willingness to take on any relevant training to meet the requirements of the post.
