Here is a rare opportunity to experience working for New House in a role that puts you in the driving seat, working as and when you can in a casual role, fitting work around your life and other commitments whilst gaining desirable skills, training and getting a ‘foot in the door’ working for the Local Authority.

New House Residential Service in Beverley provides a permanent home for eight people who have learning disabilities and associated needs. We are looking for self-motivated, positive, and sociable people to join our team which offers person centred support to individuals to ensure they are able to enjoy their preferred choice of daily routine and activity.

Duties will include supporting people with their individual personal care needs in order to ensure their safety and well-being; maintaining daily records for individuals and light domestic duties.

Previous experience of working with people is not required, although those with previous skills and experience will also be considered. There is a requirement that staff complete the Care Certificate, support to do this will be available and is considered a desirable qualification for anyone contemplating or pursuing a career in Adult Health and Social Care.

Hours of work could be offered over seven days per week when shifts are available in the 4-week rota pattern. The nature of casual work provides great flexibility which means it can fit around other commitments easily.

Some travel across East Riding of Yorkshire may be required, applicants must be able to transport themselves.

This post is subject to medical and enhanced DBS clearance.


This role involves either direct work or regular visiting to a CQC registered care home. In light of the Government's decision to revoke mandatory vaccination legislation with effect from 15 March 2022, applicants will not be required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to undertake this post. The Council continues to promote vaccination against Covid-19 in keeping with NHS and Public Health guidance.
