The Old School House provides residential care to older people with advanced Dementia. We are proud to have achieved an outstanding rating from CQC on our last two inspections.
We currently have vacancies for casual relief care assistants, full and part time, to boost out existing staff team.
The role is working shifts to cover 06:45 to 15:00 and 14:45 to 23:00. This is a 4-week rolling rota including alternate weekends and some bank holidays.
Experience in providing care to a vulnerable person is essential, as well as demonstrating an understanding of a positive approach to dementia care.
Duties include ensuring the personal and physical care needs of the residents are met. You will also work with individuals to ensure the highest standard of dignity, privacy, respect and independence are achieved.
The work will involve working in some difficult and complex situations as presentations in dementia vary significantly. Behaviour management awareness, as well as caring and empathetic approaches, are also essential in meeting individual needs.
The role is challenging but extremely rewarding. If you enjoy working with people and have a desire to improve the quality of life for older people with dementia in residential care, then we would welcome your application.
You should be able to work as part of a team, offering consistent approaches to care and managing behaviours that challenge. A good value base and an awareness of the needs of people with Dementia is essential.
The Care certificate would be advantageous, although not essential, as support will be given to complete within a 12-week period. A willingness to take on any relevant training to meet the requirements of the post is also essential.
Should you require any advice or support in completing the application process, or for an informal discussion regarding the post please contact Deborah Gardiner at The Old School House, Beverley: 01482 868118
