An opportunity has become available for a Casual Laundry Assistant to work at Wold Haven Residential Care Home. This will be a casual post working in our laundry to cover for staff absence and holidays. Although this is a casual contract to work as and when required, it may lead to something on a more permanent basis in the future.
As a Laundry Assistant at Woldhaven care home, you will help to make sure our residents receive quality care and support in the best possible surroundings. By making sure each resident has clean clothing and bedding, you’ll be playing your own part in helping everyone to feel comfortable and at home. The role of Laundry Assistant involves sorting, washing, drying, ironing and contributing to the overall look and feel of the home.
It’s a great way to get a sense of what it takes to keep everything running smoothly in our care home and it could open up other opportunities as you develop.
To join us as a Laundry Assistant you'll need a personable approach, good practical skills and determination to provide an exceptional laundry service. Just as importantly, you should be reliable and committed to making a positive difference to our residents. In return we'll provide all the training you need to thrive.
The role will involve the safe operation of the washing machines and dryers within the laundry at the care home and following the health & safety polices in place by ERYC. Training will be given on the safe use of the equipment and on all safe working practise.
A basic understanding is required of general laundering of clothes and /or bedding in line with guidance and garment care instructions.
