Post 1 (15.5 hours per week)

Days of work: Post 1 Tuesday 09:30 – 17:15, Friday 09:30 – 13:45 and Saturday 09:15 – 13:15

Post 2 (17.5 hours per week)

Days of work: Thursday 09:15.-19:00, Friday 09:15 – 14:15 and Saturday 09:15 – 13:00

Service Area: Adult Health and Customer Services

As a Library Assistant, you will support the delivery of library and information services to ensure a high quality service, assist with the delivery of activities and events, help customers to access online information and resources and encourage use by a wide range of customers.

You will:

  • have a love for reading and be passionate about sharing this
  • have excellent communication and digital skills
  • be able to work with a range of partners and volunteers
  • be keen to develop your transferable skills

You will also be required to:

  • Lead and actively take part in events, e.g. story times, author talks
  • Support health and wellbeing initiatives
  • Assist the public to use IT resources
  • Shelve and maintain stock
  • Promote the library service to the community

You should have a warm, personable nature, a can-do attitude and strong organisational skills, as well as being a strong team player willing to lend a hand wherever needed. Libraries are more than just books and this is a fantastic time to become part of the East Riding Libraries Team and join us in making a difference to the local community in and around Bridlington.

The work is often physically demanding, involving lifting and moving around the workplace.
