Description

The job itself

Do you enjoy working with people and enriching their lives? If so, this is an ideal opportunity for you.

The Mobile Library Service is looking to recruit a proactive and outgoing team member to support the delivery of the service. This role is primarily based in our offices in Melton, however on occasion you may be asked to accompany a Mobile Library out to site to cover staff absences or participate in outreach events.

You should have a warm, personable nature, a can-do attitude and strong organisational skills. You will provide excellent customer care, have a genuine enthusiasm for working with people of all ages and be a strong team player willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

You must be able to use your initiative and prioritise your workload whilst working to a consistently high standard, sometimes under pressure.

Regular tasks include:

  • Responding to customer queries via the telephone and email
  • Use of IT systems, including the Microsoft office suite of programmes and bespoke IT packages
  • Dealing with deliveries of goods and services, stationery and stock control
  • The processing of library stock using the online Library Management System
  • Shelving and maintenance of library stock and general day to day administration

The role can be physically demanding. You will be assisting other colleagues, moving library stock to and from shelves. Stock work is a key responsibility of this post and you will also be restocking the warehouse area and loading/unloading crates of library materials.

If you are truly passionate about supporting the local community then we want to hear from you.

This role offers guaranteed training, strong team support, excellent rewards and a competitive salary.

Candidates unsuccessful after interview but who still meet the requirements of the role may be offered a casual contract.
