Description

The job itself

We are looking for people to join our team of casual event support workers in Arts Development. This may include sessional support work at East Riding Youth Dance or front of house support at performances and concerts. You will support the artists and event organisers by setting up the venue, greeting participants and audiences, supporting the safe and efficient running of the event.

East Riding Arts deliver events across the East Riding, with dance groups in Withernsea, Beverley and Bridlington and running events at other locations on an ad hoc basis. We’re keen to recruit staff from a range of East Riding locations.

We require someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, interested in the arts, and has experience of working with children and young people. Some support workers will specifically support out regular weekly youth dance sessions, other support workers will work on events on a casual as needed basis. This will involve supporting the safe running of events, welcoming customers, front of house duties (ticket taking/cash handling/serving refreshments), assisting with the surveying of audiences, collecting evaluation data.

Work is of a casual nature and applicants should be prepared to work as and when required. Hours may include evenings, weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.

Applicants should refer to the attached job outline and specification for information on requirements for the post. Applicants must meet all of the essential criteria to be shortlisted for an interview.
