The job itself

Required from the 1st June or earlier if possible, The East Riding Schools' Music Service seeks a temporary, part-time Woodwind teacher.

The successful candidate will be required to teach individual, small group and whole class. A passion for widening access to all styles of music for all children, an excellent track record and the ability to motivate young people to achieve their potential are essential qualities for this post.

Due to the current situation relating to Covid19 the Schools’ Music service teachers may be required to teach lessons online in addition to or as an alternative to face to face lessons. The successful candidate should have a flexible approach towards “blended learning”.

The service supports a large range of high quality musical extra-curricular activities including choirs, bands, orchestras, ensembles, and workshop/masterclass opportunities. The successful candidate may have the opportunity to be involved. This would involve evening and weekend working (paid as additional hours).

Both experienced and new teachers to the profession are welcome to apply for this post. Applicants must have a current driving licence. An allowance is paid to assist in the running of a car. Schools’ Music Service staff are employed by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council on School Teachers Pay and Conditions. The appointment will be made up to a maximum of point 6 on the main pay scale.

Full driving license is essential and access to a car as applicant will need to be travel to other schools across the East Riding.
