The Education Welfare Service is looking to recruit an additional Senior Education Welfare Officer to join this busy team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing legislation in relation to the statutory duties which the service undertakes on behalf of the local authority, which include ensuring every pupil has access to a suitable and efficient education at school or otherwise, enforcing irregular school attendance, tracking children missing education, having oversight of elective home education, licensing of employment, chaperones and entertainment performances, operation encompass and free school meals, as well as managing a team of officers from across the service.
Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills, and be enthusiastic and motivated to build relationships with other services, both within and external to the Council and with schools, able to prioritise their workload, and have the specialist knowledge required to undertake the role as outlined within the job outline and specification.
