Project Assistant
The job itself
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and organised individual. You will assist the partnership manager and project officer to deliver a range of education, training and careers related services to staff, young people and parent/carers in the East Riding. This role is a mix of office-based tasks and activities in schools.
You will build and maintain relationships with staff in council departments, schools, colleges, training providers, other bodies and government agencies.
Day to day you will:
- Provide an online helpdesk service for the >log on | move on> website
- Organise and schedule a programme of events using the HERE for Schools website and/or team calendar
- Prepare and send emails and make telephone calls
- Prepare and present progress reports
- Train staff in person or online
- Attend events with young people and parent/carers
- Work with a teacher to deliver classroom sessions to pupils
You will need to be confident interacting with staff, young people and parent/carers when attending events to promote our services. You will have experience of working independently in a busy role and have a good standard of English and Maths. You must also have experience of using a variety of information technology (IT) office-based systems.
This post is a permanent, part time role for 18.5 hours per week, working from County Hall, home or partner sites. You will need to be flexible to cover events on evenings and non-working days. These will be planned in advance and overtime or time off in lieu will be available.
You will need to be able to travel independently around the East Riding and undertake an enhanced DBS.
