This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our growing Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Assessment and Review Team. We are passionate about promoting high aspirations and expectations for children and young people and we are now looking to expand our team, to support the growing number of children and young people in the East Riding with SEND (0-25) and their families. These are newly established posts that will focus specifically on resourcing the Annual Review process. Ensuring that we are able to provide both a timely and quality service, to secure the best possible outcomes for children and young people with SEND. This is a really exciting time to be joining us on our journey of development and be part of a team that is ambitious and aspiring to provide outstanding services, to the children and young people of the East Riding of Yorkshire and their families.
We are looking for two experienced, dedicated leaders to join the SEND Assessment and Review Team as Senior Education, Health and Care Officers. The post holders will be responsible for leading and managing a team of officers to work in a person-centred approach.
They will join a busy, fast paced team working closely with schools and settings to assist them in facilitating high quality annual review’s for children and young people with Education Health and Care Plans. They will support officers to process and review recommendations from annual reviews of SEN, for pupils with an EHCP, across the full range of education settings. To ensure timely issuing of outcomes to annual reviews and that any requests, or related changes, of placement, funding or transport are actioned and communicated to the appropriate services.
They will ensure that the annual reviews process produces high quality EHCPs completed within statutory timeframes. They will also be required to coordinate the delivery of relevant services / provision to ensure effective and timely delivery of the EHC process; working with relevant professionals in education, health and social care services, and other relevant disciplines, to ensure their knowledge, experience, skills and relevant assessments inform the EHC Plans.
They will have a degree or equivalent, preferably in a related field, and have experience of working with children, young people with SEND and their families. They will have experience of managing, coaching and leading staff along with experience of project management.
