East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s 0-25 SEND Team is looking for applicants for the post of Community Short Breaks Worker. This newly created role will serve a vital purpose in ensuring that the local authority is able to support children and young people with an assessed need, following a social care assessment, to receive a short break.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at a time of great development within the council’s specialist services, supporting children and young people with additional needs, as well as their families, to access the support that they require. You will be part of a highly motivated and exceptionally skilled team that are dedicated in supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The ideal candidate will be a skilled and committed individual who is able to support children and young people access short breaks in the community. They should have experience of supporting children and young people with additional needs and have a secure understanding of how to assist individuals with SEND. The successful applicant will be offered relevant training, support and guidance but must be able to use their own initiative and work flexibly while following procedures and guidance.

The successful candidate will be expected to work across the East Riding. Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will be expected to work predominantly evenings and weekends.

We have several roles available and we are able to offer flexible hours to the right candidate.
