The Families Information Service Hub (FISH) team are looking to recruit to one of their FISH Information Officer positions.
The post is full time and will be based at County Hall, Beverley, ensuring that parents and professionals receive timely, up-to-date information and advice as early as possible about services and entitlements available and are directed to services appropriately.
The Childcare Act 2006 states that local authorities are to provide information to ensure parents and prospective parents can access the full range of information they may need for their children from birth right through to their 20th birthday. The FISH team has also taken on responsibility for additional work including elements of the SEND reforms, 2 year old funded places alongside the extended entitlement offer and the increased demand on the helpline in responding to enquiries from parents and professionals. The nature and range of enquiries are complex and demanding. Therefore knowledge on children and family services and the skills to be able to receive a diverse mix of information, including safeguarding matters relating to parents/carers/children and services are crucial.
Duties include dealing with telephone enquiries providing information, advice and assistance through the Families Information Service Hub (FISH) helpline and email service. You will have excellent customer service skills and have experience of working in a customer focused environment. You will have excellent IT skills and experience of using databases and be educated to A Level standard or equivalent.
