East Riding of Yorkshire Council are offering an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of climate change resilience within the East Riding. Working with communities, businesses, internal colleagues and external partners, the Senior Sustainable Development Officer (Coast) will promote sustainable coastal management and support the delivery of mitigation and adaptation approaches to plan for, and respond to, the impacts of coastal change in the East Riding.
The successful candidate will lead on the development and delivery of coastal management policy within the East Riding, work at a national level to inform Government flood and coastal erosion risk management policy and actively support residents and businesses to adapt to the impacts of coastal change.
You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and have a good understanding of coastal processes and sustainable coastal management approaches. You should also have good interpersonal skills, with experience of communicating with a range of stakeholders.
