St Anne’s School and Sixth Form College and Residence caters for pupils with severe learning difficulties and complex needs aged 2 – 19 years. The school is classed as a day school with residential provision.
St Anne’s School and Sixth Form College and Residence are seeking to appoint a HR Manger to deliver an outstanding HR service to the school and residence. In this role you will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and will have responsibility for reporting on all HR matters to the School Governing Body.
Dealing with HR queries and acting as the first point of contact for HR advice and HR related issues for a staff group of approaching 200, you will be a confident and capable individual.
Your remit will be truly generalist and will involve employee relations work such as disciplinary, performance, grievance, capability, ill health, harassment, sickness absence, probation and organisational restructures, as well as recruitment and HR reporting, training, and project work. Giving advice to staff and managers at all levels and supporting line managers you’ll be able to effectively engage with staff and stakeholders at all levels. You will be required to provide a level of cover for the Business Manager in their absence.
You will not be fazed by dealing with a wide range of employee relation issues and you’ll be able to effectively assess situations, making sound and pragmatic judgements, weighing up all possibilities before making a conclusion and advising on a course of action.
You will be CIPD qualified and already have similar experience of working at this level, with detailed understanding of employment legislation and its interpretation into best practice.
This is predominantly a stand alone role, however you will have some support available from and be required to link in with the local authority HR department on certain matters.
Appointments will be subject to satisfactory checks at enhanced level by the Disclosure and Barring Services and other background checks. The School will meet the cost of the Disclosure & Barring Service check, however should you withdraw your application once this is in process you will be required to reimburse this expense to the School.
