An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a small dynamic team delivering rural development activity in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Covering a large and varied geographic area and with an ambitious and demanding agenda, this post offers a superb opportunity to be part of a team working to ensure the sustainability of our rural communities in these changing times.
Reporting to the Rural Policy & Partnerships Manager, the Rural Policy & Partnerships Team Leader will deputise for and help the Manager to manage and supervise the Team and ensure effective delivery of the workload. The role provides an opportunity to be involved in many aspects of the Team’s work, including the East Riding of Yorkshire Rural Strategy, rural policy analysis, programme and project development and delivery of work related to partnerships, forums and networks. It will take particular responsibility for community funds liked to energy-related developments.
You will need to be educated to degree-level or equivalent. You will have knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing rural communities. The role requires some management experience. You will also need to have knowledge of programme management systems, budget management and funding streams for rural development activity. Experience of working with local communities and partnerships is essential. A working knowledge of the key agencies and organisations involved in rural affairs is advantageous. We are looking for a team player who can work on their own initiative, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
This is a permanent part-time post (22.5 hours per week) in the Rural Policy & Partnerships Section of the Planning and Economic Regeneration Directorate. The salary is ERYC Grade 11 - £38,296 (pro-rata). The post will be based at County Hall in the attractive market town of Beverley. There is opportunity for flexible / remote-working.
