A 77-Year-old lady, living in the Preston area with various conditions including MS and Secondary Respiratory Failure, looking for a Personal Assistant to provide a fulfilling and life enriching experience, whether it be interesting conversation, accompanying client on trips out, playing games, craft, cinema visits, theatre visits etc. The ethos is that life is about living and not just existing!

We are seeking several applicants who are friendly, flexible, patient, and sensitive to the needs of the client, whilst always promoting privacy and dignity at all times. The candidates will have to deliver an exceptional level of care and commitment to a lovely lady with complex needs. Ideally the candidates will have an established background in complex care or who have experience in care but are dedicated and willing to learn a specific and detailed routine are desirable.
The role of Personal Assistant will involve personal care, feeding via RIG, using NIV and Cough Assist Machines, Nebuliser, hoists and preparing and administering medication. The role will also include carrying out basic physio, speech therapy and various light domestic duties around the home. Full training will be given along with ongoing support. This will involve working alongside a care company when personal care is being delivered.

Car driver with own vehicle with business use is essential.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post – Cost to be met by the local authority.

The Direct Payments Support Service is an in-house service provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The service promotes independent choice and inclusion, allowing our service users to employ their own care and support as needed. We support many individuals with varying abilities, assisting with advertising and recruitment for a range of roles including support workers, carers and personal assistants.
