19-year-old male, with Downs Syndrome living in the Howden area is seeking a support worker for 8 hours per week term time and 14 hours per week school holidays. This is to support with engaging in activities in the community. This could includes doing swimming, days out, attending the gym and engaging in new and meaningful activities.
Applicants need to be flexible, honest, hardworking, and caring. We are seeking care workers who are sensitive to and able to positively manage and respond to the needs of the cared for person, promoting privacy, dignity. The successful applicant will have an understanding nature and be supportive and patient but also firm with the ability to manage situations and vulnerabilities.
The candidate should be enthusiastic, resourceful, and proactive. Effective communication is essential therefore the candidate must be thoughtful and considerate in their communication and actions.
Car driver with access to own vehicle is essential.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post – Cost to be met by the local authority.
