East Riding of Yorkshire Council is looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to coordinate the design, development and delivery of practical schemes delivered through the Changing Coasts East Riding project.
Changing Coasts East Riding is part of the national Coastal Transition Accelerator Programme, supporting vulnerable communities in planning for and responding to the impacts of coastal change. This role provides an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of climate change resilience within the East Riding.
You will use your diverse set of skills to deliver a programme of work including managing multiple projects simultaneously, such as the creation and/or relocation of housing schemes, recreation and amenity areas and beach accesses through the Changing Coasts East Riding project. Your analytical approach to complex problems means you will produce innovative and effective solutions. You will be adept at technical programme management including contract administration and budget management.
As a coastal champion, you will work with internal colleagues, partners and communities to develop a new, long-term approach to coastal transition within the East Riding, while actively supporting communities to deliver on-the-ground adaptation.
This role requires a candidate who can think innovatively, forge excellent relationships with a range of people and organisations and deliver an ambitious programme of work on time.
You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and have extensive project management experience, preferably in the construction or engineering sector. You should also have experience of working with a range of stakeholders including public, private and community to successfully deliver place-based schemes.
