A 25 year old woman, living in the Beverley area with learning difficulties, is looking for a support worker. Her support needs consist of dyspraxia, anxiety, sight impairment, mobility issues and hearing loss. Assistance is required with accessing the community, including going to bingo and shopping. Keeping in mind that anxiety can affect her ability to carry out some social tasks, especially eating out due to the dyspraxia.
The young lady relies on lip reading for effective communication, this must be considered by the applicant. The ideal candidate would be someone who is caring, trustworthy and friendly and also someone who will encourage and have an understanding of her needs and mental health. You must be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post – Cost to be met by the local authority.
