Description

The job itself

Support is needed for a 16 year old girl with additional needs. This girl has a diagnosis of global developmental delay with particular difficulties in the areas of mobility, some communication and some self-help skills. She is sociable and outgoing with a fun personality. She loves music, theatre and outdoor activities.

The hours advertised are to be used flexibly to meet the family needs and can be shared with 2 other workers depending on what support is needed that week.  

Fixed term for 6 months and to be reviewed after 3 month probation period

Successful applicants will need to engage her in social activities away from the home and some of these activities may involve long distance travelling.

This girl is able to communicate her needs and copes well in the community.

We are looking for a skilled female worker who is able to support this girl to access the wider community and social activities and promote independence whilst ensuring themselves and the young adult are safeguarded at all times.

Applicants will need to have a positive outlook and be enthusiastic when it comes to supporting young adults with additional needs. Applicants will also need to be fit and happy to engage in outdoor activities.

Applicants will need to be non-smokers.

Business insurance will be needed and can be funded if not already in place.
