2 x Carers required to support a 23 year old lady living in Woodmansey. The role will be to support the young lady at Millers in Beverley. There are 2 positions available and both positions are Monday to Friday for 15 hours per week. AM 9am – 12 and PM 12 – 3.
The candidates will meet the young lady at Millers to provide support. The role will involve personal cares and support with engaging in activities at Millers and on social outings with Millers, socialising and sensory experiences. Hoist training will be provided.
Young lady has complex physical health needs and requires full support to manage her personal care needs and continence cares will be supported with other carers. A hoist is required to facilitate all transfers for personal care interventions. Young lady has a wheelchair. Young lady is to be supported with floor work whilst accessing Millers.
The candidate must be a calm, warm, caring, patient, cheerful and compassionate individual who is sensitive to and able to positively manage and respond to the needs of the individual.
The candidate should be enthusiastic, resourceful, and proactive and have a good sense of humour.
Effective communication is essential therefore the candidate must be thoughtful and considerate in their communication and actions. The successful applicant will require have an understanding nature and be supportive and patient with the ability to manage situations and vulnerabilities.
The candidate must be able to use their own initiative whilst also ensuring that an environment for maximising independence is maintained.
The candidate should be able to monitor and respond effectively to any changes in behaviours and presentation.
