Personal Assistant
The job itself
Hours of work: 20 hours per week with an additional 10 hours during the school holidays.
Days/Times: Term time after school and weekends, flexible in school holidays.
Required to assist a 6-year-old boy to enable him to access activities at home and in the community. The support is also to support mum in her parenting role. He loves to be outside and has a lot of energy. Due to his disability, he is vulnerable and needs to be supported and supervised to keep him safe. He also requires support with his personal care. As he communicates nonverbally, he requires a worker who can get to know his way of communicating before they work with him on a one to one basis. The family require support after school, weekends, and school holidays. The hours in the school holidays and weekends can be flexible, days and times can be negotiated with the family.
