Personal assistant required to support a 56 year old lady in Beverley with 2 shower calls per week and 2 social calls incorporated. Hours to be 10 hours per week plus holiday cover at an additional 5 hours per week.
Lady has asthma, diabetes and following a stroke the left side of her body is affected and mobility is a support need. Lady uses a wheelchair and walking aids. Lady is looking for an honest and reliable carer to assist with daily life. Duties will include support with showering and a social call twice per week. Lady enjoys activities such as going for a walk, visiting café’s, swimming etc.
We are seeking applicants who are friendly, patient and caring with a good sense of humour. We are seeking someone who has similar interests and enjoys going out in the community. The candidate must be able to use their own initiative whilst also ensuring that an environment for maximising independence is maintained. The candidate must be able to be sensitive to the needs of the lady, promoting privacy and dignity. It is crucial that the candidate can encourage and enable full participation in positive and meaningful activities that are enjoyed.
A genuine occupational requirement for a female worker exists for this post under the Equality Act 2010 due to privacy and decency.
