Support Worker required for a happy, chatty 5 year old girl with autism and ADHD, living in the Hessle area.
The candidate needs to be able to collect from school and walk home, support at bathtime and help with simple meal preparation.
Liking drawing and crafts would be advantageous, as well as make-up and fancy dress.
The ideal candidate would be able to de-escalate outbursts calmly and with care, as well as ensuring the girl's safety when in the middle of outbursts. Reassuring, praise and offering alternatives often helps her regulate her emotions again, so patience is of utmost importance.
The post is also to cover non term-time, so some flexibility in hours would be needed at these times, but notice would be given at least a week in advance. In return, you will be working with the smiliest and kindest little girl who loves to make others smile. Experience is not necessary, but ideally some knowledge about Autism would be beneficial.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
