A gentleman living in Hedon is seeking a Support Worker for 15 hours per week. Hours of work are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12 noon - 5 pm to support with engaging in activities in the community. This could include activities such as swimming, days out, attending the gym and engaging in new and meaningful activities to reduce social isolation and enjoy outings.
The gentleman is Autistic and has sensitive hearing. Routine and structure is imperative.
Applicants need to be flexible, honest, hardworking and caring. We are seeking care workers who are sensitive to and able to positively manage and respond to the needs of the cared for person, promoting privacy, dignity and maintaining confidentiality at all times. The successful applicant will have an understanding nature and be supportive and patient with the ability to manage situations and vulnerabilities.
The candidate should be enthusiastic, resourceful, and proactive and have a good sense of humour. Effective communication is essential, therefore the candidate must be thoughtful and considerate in their communication and actions.
Car driver with access to their own vehicle is essential.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
