We are looking for a Direct Payment Worker who is outgoing, energetic, and fun to look after a 9 year old boy with autism and social and emotional needs. They require full support to access social situations, to reduce the high anxiety he can display and to reduce any sensory triggers and make sense of his surroundings.
This young person enjoys the outdoors, exploring open spaces and parks for climbing and running. They are interested in football, swimming, bike rides and would enjoy taking part in these activities. They also like games and films so a trip to the cinema would be great.
There needs to be a high level of emotional support to access these activities. The worker should have knowledge of working with children with complex needs and should be approachable and confident in working with young people. The worker will also need to be flexible and understand that the day’s activities may be led by how the young person is feeling. The family would ideally like a worker that can commit to doing long term work with their young person.
Hours will be worked term time only.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the Local Authority.
