We are looking for a Senior Accountant to provide high level financial knowledge, support and expertise across major service areas. The successful candidate will oversee the Council’s Private Finance Initiative and manage the PFI Special Projects Team, so a knowledge of private finance initiatives would be an advantage.

Reporting to a Finance Manager, you will have up to date technical accountancy skills and an ability to carry out complex financial work both in a team environment and independently.  You must be CCAB or AAT qualified with extensive experience. 

Excellent communication skills are essential, as is an ability to foster positive working relationships with senior staff in the authority. You will be able to demonstrate up to date knowledge of local government finance matters and an ability to maximise potential in relation to specific services in the current climate of significant spending and funding pressures.
