The job itself

We are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to work 1 to 1 with a pupil in Year 1 as they move through the school. Some small group work and general Teaching Assistant duties will also be necessary as part of the role.

As a good school, we are keen to appoint an enthusiastic candidate who has experience working with children with additional needs, is creative and takes pride in ensuring pupils make good progress.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to deliver 1 to 1 activities and literacy and numeracy interventions, use their initiative, make decisions and be able to work effectively with staff across the school. Opportunities will be offered for further professional development as part of the school commitment to continuing professional development.

The ideal candidates will have had experience of working from teachers’ planning, giving clear feedback, ensuring assessments are up to date and be able to build strong relationships with both parents and staff. Experience working with children with hearing impairments is desirable but not essential.
