The job itself

The Headteacher & Governing Board seek to appoint, as soon as possible, a highly skilled and experienced teaching assistant with a minimum of a NVQ2 Certificate in Teaching and Learning Support or equivalent.

The successful candidate will be flexible and willing to undertake a variety of roles across the school, including:

  • working across different key stages, year groups and classes
  • supporting individual children and groups of pupils with ELSA & SEMH support
  • supporting individual children with various special educational needs
  • Supporting pupils with developing positive behaviour
  • providing a range of educational interventions
  • Supporting pupils over the lunchtime period

Full training will be given.

The successful candidate will be able to provide a stable, calm, caring and supportive learning environment in which pupils can achieve. We require an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for supporting pupils with their education and social skills, able to work using their initiative and as part of a team to support our pupils’ diverse range of needs. You should be experienced in dealing with pupil behaviour in a positive and nurturing manner. You should have excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to young people, their welfare, education and personal development. You will act as a role model to our pupils.

Hours: 31.25 hours minimum per week (8.45am - 3.30pm with a 30 minute lunch break). Term-time only on a fixed term basis for this academic year in the first instance.
