Are you looking for a job that offers you stability and security?

The East Riding of Yorkshire Council Housing Maintenance Unit is highlighting its commitment to investing in the people of the area in which it serves, by offering posts of permanent joiners. 

The posts will require you to carry out minor joinery repairs, repair/renew internal doors/windows/kitchens/gates and fencing, based at either of the Beverley or Carnaby Depots. If you are successful, you will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the Council's Social Housing Stock within the East Riding.

A job where you have the option to start your working day from your home, providing you can show us evidence of a full driving licence.

Where there are no expectations on you to work overtime, or be part of the call out rota, but there are opportunities to do this, if you so wish.

We are specifically looking for someone who is experienced in the building industry, preferably being able to multi skill.

You will be paired with one of our current experienced staff, to help you adjust to the way we work within the unit, until you are happy to go it alone. We are looking for staff that are self-motivated and are able to work either on their own, or within a team and have the ability to provide a good level of workmanship.

There are various training opportunities, to help you in your job, or progressing within the authority.

Work vehicle and workwear, plus personal protective equipment are supplied, with specialist tooling and equipment provided to help carry out your work.

You will be automatically, be put into the Local Government Pension Scheme, giving you some form of security, for when you retire and a generous yearly holiday entitlement.
