We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to provide maternity cover for a Food Safety Officer in the Food Services team based in Goole.
You will need to have excellent organisational, communication and I.T skills and be flexible in response to varying workload demands. Professionalism and the ability to work both with minimal supervision and as part of a team towards shared goals are essential. This post requires you to drive and you must possess a full driving licence.
The main areas of responsibility include enforcement of food safety legislation across a range of food businesses. The role also includes investigating food complaints and food borne illnesses, food/water sampling and supporting/advising local food businesses.
This is a career-graded post, however we are seeking a qualified and experienced candidate who has the developed competencies to fulfil the role at Level 3 for this Fixed Term Contract period. We will also consider suitable applications from potential candidates for appointment at Level 2, such as relevant graduates seeking to gain practical experience in regulatory food enforcement and local government. Officers in public protection are expected to work positively in delivering the Councils vision and objectives and have the ability to participate in progressive change and transformation, including widening the scope for commercialisation.
