We have an exciting opportunity to join Housing Services as a Decant Officer. You will deliver a fast and efficient customer-focused decant service to East Riding residents, which includes minimising void loss, whilst providing excellent customer service, ensuring the Council complies with all relevant legislation.

We are looking someone who can work in close collaboration with other departments regarding requests for temporary or permanent decants and govern the approval or rejection of these requests. The role will involve managing temporary and permanent decants, and monitor the timescales for works to be completed, obtaining regular updates on progress to ensure that the East Riding is being as efficient as possible.

You will work together with Housing Management Officers to review empty homes that could be considered for urgent moves or decants, provide a responsive service to customer enquiries, maintain regular contact and progress updates at all times to ensure a seamless service is provided, manage the allocation and authorisation of payments to residents for Disturbance or Home loss, whilst ensuring that payments are made in line with Policy and Procedure, and liaise with residents regarding the options available to them.

The first phase includes schemes in Driffield Hornsea and Anlaby with more to follow across the Authority, the successful applicant will be expected travel to various locations. The successful candidate will be a team player, be able to deliver difficult messages and be well organised.

The post will be based at Town hall at Bridlington however the Council anticipates that the successful candidate will work in a blended way combining both working from home, from other centres and the office and is keen to offer flexibility to this role where this benefits both residents and officers.
