Casual Caretakers wanted!
We are looking to recruit friendly and reliable individuals to come join our team. The Haltemprice and Hunsley area covers Willerby , Hessle, Anlaby , Brough and Cottingham.
Accommodation Services supply cleaners via service level agreements to many East Riding schools, as well as covering Council offices and other premises from Goole to Bridlington to Withernsea and all areas in between.
Accommodation Services oversees the day to day management of all corporate accommodation and provides a comprehensive cleaning and caretaking service to over 230 sites, including schools, offices, public conveniences and other public buildings throughout the East Riding of Yorkshire. The department ensures all sites are open, clean and fit for occupation on a daily basis.
Servicing such a large geographical area means vacancies often arise at short notice in remote locations which can be hard to attract applicants to fill. The team also face difficulties in retaining staff for roles which can be part-time and may include hours worked early in the morning or in the evening and so can be hard to fit around family life as well as being physically demanding.
These are vital roles in maintaining frontline Council services and require reliable individuals who can work under their own initiative and as part of a team, have high standards, can work to deadlines and who take satisfaction from a job well done.
Experience is not essential as full training is provided. We are committed to training and development of all staff employed.
For further requirements and responsibilities, please see the attached job outline and employee specification. Please note that applications are shortlisted according to the specification and it is therefore important that you demonstrate on your application exactly how you meet the criteria for the role. We will also require that applications are completed fully and include employment history and references.
Please note that as this is a casual pool, we will hold your application on file for a period of 3 months. If you have not heard anything from us during this time (or by the end of the 3-month period) you should assume that your application has been unsuccessful. Should you still wish to be considered for casual work after this, you would need to re-apply.

Please note that the future terms and conditions of this post may change following the outcome of this review.
