If yes, an opportunity awaits you as a member of the Communities and Environment Operational Service Development Team. We help bring about change across the Council’s Community and Environment Directorate to maximise potential and encourage commercial approaches, innovation, and continuous improvement.

The role

We are looking for a self-directed and motivated person to manage business change projects. The role involves engaging directly with senior managers across the C&E directorate managing the delivery of several projects and supporting business change initiatives.

The role requires the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure work is delivered to schedule.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, and has experience of project management or business change work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing directorate business change projects, typically implementing business solutions to enhance service delivery, reduce costs and/or generate income.
  • Develop project plans for business change projects that communicate tasks, milestone dates, status and resource allocation.
  • Engaging with stakeholders in appropriate and effective ways to ensure business buy in and successful outcomes.

You will ideally have the following skills and values

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced project management environment
  • Outstanding engagement skills and an excellent communicator
  • Ability to spot opportunities for improvement in process, systems, and technology
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Be passionate about making a difference
