St Anne’s School and Sixth Form college is an award winning ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rated school and we are looking for an outstanding teacher to join our team. We’ve recently moved to our state of the art new school in Hessle so you couldn’t pick a better time to consider joining us!
As a school for students with severe learning difficulties and complex needs from ages two to nineteen, we want to hear from you if you are a classroom practitioner who can confidently teach across the age ranges and who is passionate about encouraging all students to achieve.
To apply you must:
- Have knowledge of working with pupils with a range of special needs and medical needs
- Have a track record of demonstrating a strong ability to plan, prepare and teach lessons which are outstanding and in line with the Teaching Standards.
- Have a strong and creative approach to teaching
- Have a knowledge and understanding of different curriculums.
- Be confident in leading a team of learning support assistants and professional practitioners
- Have a confident and positive approach to behaviour management
- Have excellent interpersonal skills
- Have a commitment to working in partnership with staff, parents and carers and the community to promote excellent learning opportunities for all
- An understanding of assessments
- Have effective ICT skills
- Demonstrated experience of working in partnership with colleagues, parents, governors and multi-disciplinary agencies.
The successful candidate will need to be able to teach across all Key Stages as many of the students work on differentiated curriculum due to their needs. This role is not suitable for ECT teachers.

Appointment will be subject to satisfactory checks at enhanced level by the Disclosure and Barring Services and other background checks. The School will meet the cost of the Disclosure & Barring Service check, however should you withdraw your application once this is in process you will be required to reimburse this expense to the School.
The selection process will include the requirement to prepare a lesson in advance. Successful candidates will go through to a formal interview.
