Following the retirement of our Headteacher, we are looking to appoint an approachable, friendly school leader, who is committed to putting our children at the heart of all that the school does. We are looking for an expert practitioner, who is willing to fulfil a small teaching commitment and who will lead by example and inspire excellence throughout the school.

The school is located in Skirlaugh, a popular growing village between Hull and Beverley. There are currently 149 pupils on roll. The school has a well-attended nursery as part of its EYFS provision. We have stable staff, supportive governors and parents. Our children show excellent behaviour and live out our Christian values. The last SIAMs inspection was in February 2016, where the school was rated outstanding and stated “Pupils have a very positive attitude to learning and achieve well because they know they are cherished for who they are within a caring, supportive Christian ethos.”

Our school has been previously judged as good by Ofsted and recently received Section 8 inspection (awaiting publication).

This is a great opportunity for either an experienced head teacher or a senior leader, who is ready for the next step in their career.

Our vision is to provide a welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment at the heart of the local community. Based on our core Christian values of friendship, forgiveness, perseverance and respect, we nurture and empower individuals; inspiring all to grow spiritually and fulfil their potential, preparing for future opportunities, responsibilities and experiences.

Therefore we need someone who will continue to:

  • Build upon our strong community relationships
  • Continue our successful improvement journey building on our firm foundations
  • Provide the innovative leadership required to maintain a vibrant, outward looking school where all the children are well prepared to flourish in 21st century life.
  • Continue to inspire our skilled and experienced staff, enabling the whole school to grow
  • Promote the school’s Christian vision and core values in all areas of school life, maintaining the strong links with our village church and the Diocese of York.
  • Be a good listener and articulate communicator and demonstrate excellent communication skills with pupils, staff, families and governors,
  • Continue to celebrate the diversity and inclusive nature our school, ensuring that all individuals thrive.
  • Have relevant and current expertise and knowledge of curriculum design who can help us to complete and deepen our curriculum journey

The closing date for applications is 9am Friday 6th November 2020 to be received at the school. Please note that online applications close at midnight on Thursday 5th Novemeber 2020.

Interviews to be held on: Thursday 26th and Friday 27th November 2020
