The Headteacher & Governing Body are seeking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced teaching assistant with a minimum of a NVQ 2 Certificate in Teaching and Learning Support or equivalent.
The role will entail providing one to one support for a child with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) and some medical needs as well as providing support in classrooms and leading small intervention groups as required.
Having the confidence to manage and support children with Special Educational Needs and disabilities is essential, as is showing the initiative and commitment to adapting to the individual needs of children. It is also essential to have prior experience of working on a 1:1 basis with children with high needs. In particular, you must have experience in dealing with challenging pupil behaviour in a positive and nurturing manner.
The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a team to provide a stable, calm, caring and supportive learning environment in which pupils can achieve. We require an enthusiastic, resilient and motivated individual with a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs to achieve their full personal and academic potential.
You should have excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to young people, their welfare, education and personal development. You will act as a role model to our pupils.
