We are seeking applicants who wish to be considered for seasonal vacancies, commencing on 15 March 2021 in the Grounds Maintenance section (applicants must be available to start on this date for training purposes).
The hours of work are 37 hours per week + 2 hours contractual overtime, normal working is Monday to Friday - you must be able to report to the depot ready for work by 7.30am.
You will be responsible for undertaking work on all green space and street scene activities as required, including: grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting, herbicide application, litter picking, removal of detritus, clearing blocked drains of weeds, leaves etc, pruning, path edging, hard landscaping, preparation of planting areas, planning, design and planting of flower beds, watering and ongoing care of plants and repairs to lawns.
The job role can be physically demanding and will include walking/being on your feet for a minimum of 5 hours a day and lifting/moving heavy equipment. Exposure to hand arm vibrating equipment will be required working within HSE guidelines. The ability to work outdoors in all weathers is essential. Experience of driving triple mowers, tractors and other machinery associated with Grounds Maintenance operations is desirable, but not essential as training will be given. A full driving licence is desirable, but not essential. You must be capable of working either on your own or as part of a team and be capable of using your own initiative to ensure the completion of work schedules to a satisfactory standard.
