Place of Work:         County Hall, Beverley

We are seeking an experienced ICT Technical Analyst, specialising in Application Support at both development and end user level, working within the Application & Development Support Team.

The post will primarily focus on the development and support of the Council’s HR and Payroll management system (iTrent system). Fundamental to this role is the provision of ICT advice and guidance to service users. This will include liaising with third party suppliers, external customers, various internal departments and the creation and maintenance of system documentation.

In addition to this, you will be an excellent administrator, co-ordinating technical requirements in an effective, timely and professional manner. An awareness of IT systems within the service area above will be an advantage.

The successful candidate will also have experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Assisting in the evaluation of business process and translating this into system functionality.
  • Ability to delegate and refer work and mentor team members.
  • Understanding of existing technologies and new emerging technologies.
  • Use of query report writing tools such as Business Objects, Business Intelligence, SQL.
  • Technical problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to create technical documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, electronically and verbally to a range of customers including software suppliers.
  • MS Office and 3rd Party Applications.

Teamwork plays a vital role within our service; therefore you should be flexible and be able to use your initiative and problem solving skills, whilst working to a consistently high standard in a demanding role. You should also be able to demonstrate staff supervisory skills, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Based at County Hall, Beverley, the post is permanent and is part time, 18.5 hours a week.
