The job itself

This is an opportunity for an experienced, data literate professional.

This post will play a key role in enabling the team to provide high-quality information to aid the interpretation of operational performance and to inform decision making. Linking in closely with the colleagues in Adult Social Care and Health and other Council departments to deliver analytical performance insights and intelligence whilst developing and presenting enhanced reporting and visualisation.

You will need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with information. We want someone who is able to enthuse, enable and educate colleagues at all levels about the capabilities and potential of high quality, insightful, analytics.

You will be involved in the development, implementation and use of a range of reporting techniques. The role has a significant technical content so you will need to become conversant with the reporting tools and record systems we use (primarily the azeuscare client record system).

Ideally you will: -

  • be familiar with reporting using industry standard tools (e.g. SQL, Power BI. MS Excel)
  • familiar reporting from a large corporate IT system such as a customer/client record database
  • be skilled at data analysis
  • be able to manage competing priorities and organise your workload and that of the team
  • be able to lead on projects and oversee allocated staff including providing advice and support to other members of a team
  • be able to use narrative and graphic techniques to illustrate and explain the data to operational and senior managers.
  • be able to mentor and support other staff in using their systems
  • deliver presentations and run training sessions.

An understanding of adult social care would be advantageous but is not essential.

Interviews will be in person and are provisionally scheduled for Tuesday 18 April. Shortlisted candidates will asked to submit a short paper or presentation on a topic in advance.
