Be part of the next stage of our journey
“I am delighted to work in the East Riding as the Head of Adult Services, having been in post since May 2018. In my role I am often astonished by the strength, resilience, and professional practice that our frontline workers demonstrate daily when working with our residents. I feel privileged to lead a strong and highly supportive service. East Riding Council is a forward-thinking council, willing to modernise and innovate with a strong sense of leadership and focus. I am pleased to lead the Adult Social Care agenda, supporting vulnerable people across our communities, and working closely with our key partners across the wider social care and health system.
The East Riding of Yorkshire is a beautiful and diverse place to work and live. Choosing a professional career in adult social care will provide opportunities for you to expand your knowledge through a robust career and progression pathway. We are dedicated to supporting your continued professional development in a variety of ways. We have strong links with Social Work England, Skills for Care and the Health Care Professionals Council and we are committed to research, practice development and a culture of continuous improvement.
As a social worker myself, I was compelled to work in a sector that would enable me to contribute to making the difference that is needed both in society and across our communities. A social work career does provide this opportunity, and for me it remains one of the best things I have done. Despite challenges, it is a rewarding profession for those of us who choose this vocation. There are both challenges and opportunities, especially following the pandemic, but locally and nationally we are looking to the future. I am keen to promote the social work opportunities we have in Adult Social Care. Our microsite provides a lot more information about our employment offer and I invite you to consider bringing your skills and talent to the East Riding of Yorkshire to be part of our team and importantly to be part of the next stage of our journey.”
