Building in our community
Providing essential facilities for our residents and businesses.
As the biggest employer of building and construction professionals in the area, we're always looking for talented and enthusiastic people to join our team.
With an approved investment programme worth over £750 million, we're continuing to build on our track record of attracting investment into the region and improving the infrastructure of the East Riding.
Caring in our community
Enabling independence and improving quality of life.
Working in the care sector can be very rewarding for the right person. Depending on the role, you don’t always need qualifications or previous work experience in care to work in social care.
What’s really important is having the right values to work with children, families and adults; treating people with dignity and respect, being kind, reliable and empathetic.
Educating our community
Helping others to learn and achieve.
Working locally within communities in schools, adult learning centres and nurseries are popular ways to help people learn and achieve.
We also have other roles which focus on providing advice and support to others. These include working in a customer service centre, adult tutoring and giving advice on running a business.
Protecting the community
Helping our residents be safe.
We have a range of jobs and careers that protect communities and our environment. These include looking after our countryside and coast, planning for emergencies or making sure others follow regulations - like trading or food standards.
Others focus on maintaining roads, pavements and vehicles to ensure they are safe for us to use, or on removing and recycling waste.
Providing leisure in our community
Supporting wellbeing through leisure activities.
Providing sport and exercise activities to help people feel good and stay healthy is key to working in any of 10 leisure centres or taking sport out into the community.
We also have jobs to organise and run events and exhibitions.
Our catering roles are based all over the East Riding in our leisure centres, schools and residential homes.
Supporting delivery in our community
In it together to serve the community.
Many of these roles are based within teams of professional staff with established career paths available. Other roles are more administrative and if you want to progress these can provide stepping stones into many other jobs here.
Other roles concentrate on analysing information and driving ongoing improvements or identifying innovations and delivering change.
