Job outline
Overall purpose
Working within Environmental Services Group to providing a Caretaking service at the Council’s Crematorium.
Principal accountabilities

General security of site and building – checking doors/windows are secure, locking and unlocking of building/site gates.

Arming/disarming of intruder alarms.

Attending/re-setting fire alarms.

Porterage duties – moving furniture, support with deliveries.

Gathering of waste from bins on site/in building for collection.
-
General outside tasks – leaf clearance, litter picking, footpaths and snow clearance.
- Cleaning duties including on-site toilet/shower facilities, kitchens and crematory.

Maintains infection control systems including clinical waste.

Liaise with contractors on site.
- Monitor and attend car park at busy periods.

Maintain all appropriate Health and Safety records e.g. fire log/emergency lighting and site testing.

Identify faults/repairs on building/site and report to Crematorium management.

Standby/call out provision.

The post requires impartiality when receiving or carrying out requests for specific requests from members of the public.
